Rare Gem

We all have imaginations, dreams and memories all buried somewhere in our brains. Some are there long term whilst others fade away (short term). In all these little events trailing to memories, comes a time where we imagined absurd things; what we called our own “little inventions”. Guys, I guess at some point in our lives we did stuff like this.

True?

As I was writing this I was taken down memory lane to my childhood days when I played with building blocks and some cooking set toys or my marketing skills (what I termed buying and selling game) and many more wonderful thoughts.

Those were the days of innocence when creativity flowed uninhibited. You see kids today their ingenuity is over the roof! They’re smart, thinking things we deemed impossible. Sadly, most times we laugh and shush them. As they get older they see their ideas as silly.

Why?

Because they’ve got a bunch of people or older ones saying “grow up those are just fantasies”, “dreams don’t put food on the table”,… and other phrases like that. They begin to believe these lies. That’s why we have a lot of grown-up folks in society today doing jobs only for the money no form of passion what so ever.

We have these ideas and talents all buried deep within us waiting to come out. They may not in the end inspire our ultimate career choices but they are useful nonetheless. They can provide us with the fuel to drive our careers or they may be the things that make life fun so that we can burrow successfully through a bad day or period.

However, people who end up living their ideas or putting their talents to work and make a career from it live healthy fulfilled lives.

Everyone is unique in the sense that they have a gem in them that they must unearth. This uniquely distinctive Gem must be put through fire making it pure and strong. Paulo Coelho says “In other to find the treasure, you will have to follow the omen. God has prepared a path for everyone to follow. You just have to read the omens that are left for you”.

So when we see kids who want to be chef’s, musicians, writers…we owe it to ourselves to motivate them to stir up their giftings.

For many of us with buried gifts, it’s time we dig them up. Now that we are holed up in our homes we could try out things like picking up a pencil to draw, the paintbrush to paint, some farming tools to aid us in cultivating a small garden or something of that nature. Heck, we could even do some sewing or knitting or try our hands at baking bread. Try something new you might just love it eventually. You never can tell.

Try to make your own decisions to make sure you live a fulfilled life.

Lastly, there’s no age for those who can and want to be adventurous. If you’re reading this it means you fall in that category. Discover new things about yourself and have fun doing so.

IT IS TIME TO BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOU!
